Fishing in the Spreewald

The "Quappe" – giving the restaurant its name - belongs to the codfishes, which where numerous in the Spreewald channels once. In contrast to their related, these fishes are preferring fresh water rather then salt water.

Moreover the restaurant is committing itself to his famous predecessor, the more than hundred years old and very popular "Lehder Schankwirtschaft", which claimed to be a victim in a conflagration in 1897. Nearly at the same place out of an old cucumber building the new "Quappenschänke" was built in the 90s - a worthy successor well known today the same as in the old times.
